THS hands out 54 diplomas during commencement

Students receive $74,250 in scholarships at annual awards night

Reporter/Teresa Ging THORNDALE—The 54-member Thorndale High School class of 2013 received diplomas during commencement ceremonies held Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

Speeches by class valedictorian Davis Denny and salutatorian Lizzie Marr highlighted the event.

On May 29, graduates were awarded scholarships at the annual awards night. Students received $74,250 in scholarships and awards.

Recipients are as follows:

Kenneth Caf fey Scholarship— Lizzie Marr, Chloe Ochoa ($20,000 each).

Little River Healthcare—Olivia Atkins ($5,000).

National FFA- John Deere Dealer—Allen Hall ($2,000).

Milam County Go Texan and Triple B Cookers—Kaitlynn Gibson ($1,500).

Auxiliary of Scott and White/ Johns Community Hospital— Olivia Atkins, Chloe Ochoa ($1,000 each).

Little River Healthcare Auxiliary— Olivia Atkins ($1,000).

Milam County Go Texan— Allen Hall ($1,000); Daniel Avila ($500).

Taylor Rodeo Association— Allen Hall ($1,000).

Thorndale Masonic Lodge 978— Chloe Ochoa, Savannah Page, Davis Denny, Olivia Atkins ($1,000 each).

Linwood Acres Garden Club— Allen Hall ($750).
