Mt. Zion VBS ahead Monday through Friday

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 3739 FM 1712 (5 miles north of Rockdale), will hold Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 17-21 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m.

Classes are available for 4 years of age up to youth (high school). Theme will be “Colossal Coaster World.” Main Bible verse will be 2 Timothy 1:17, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline.”

“Each day we will examine what the scripture teaches and make application into our lives,” Bro. Shelander said. Crafts, games and refreshments are included.

Murray Street sets ‘Circus of Faith’ VBS

Murray Street Church of Christ has set Vacation Bible School for 9 a.m. to noon Friday through Sunday, June 21-23.

Theme is “Learnem & Dailey’s 5-Ring Circus of Faith” and the VBS is open to children from age 4 to those entering the fifth grade in the fall. Refreshments will be provided at the end of each session.

A fellowship meal is set for June 23 following services for all family members.

First Baptist VBS set here for June 23-27

First Baptist Church in Rockdale will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, June 23-27, according to Rev. Jack Chelf, pastor.

Theme will be “Colossal Coaster World—Facing Fear, Trusting God.” The VBS is open to all children Pre-K through fifth grade age.

Thrift store volunteers announced for month

Rockdale Christian Services Heavenly Treasures thrift store serving the needy at 233 North Main Street is staffed by volunteers from RCS members churches. Church assignments through June are as follows:

Next men’s breakfast at First Presbyterian

An ecumenical monthly men’s Christian fellowship breakfast is held from 7 until 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, the site rotating between several local churches.

Next breakfast will be on Tuesday, July 9, at First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Alcoa Avenue.

“Purpose is Christian fellowship and all men of the Rockdale area are invited,” said Bill Avrett, spokesman.

St. Paul to host S&W Bloodmobile Sunday

THORNDALE—The Scott & White Bloodmobile will be on the campus of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School on Sunday, June 16 from 8 a.m. until noon. To preregister, call Teresa Ging, 512-924-0151. Walk-ins are welcome.

Donors will receive a donor T-shirt, a coupon for a free buffet and drink from Gatti’s Pizza, a chance to win 4 tickets to a Round Rock Express baseball game, and a chance to win a donor quilt at the end of the year.

Four St. Paul blood drives remain in 2013—June 16, Aug. 11, Oct. 6 and Dec 1.

“ Thank you to those in the community who come out and support these drives,” Ging said. “Your time and blood do make a difference in someone’s life, so be a lifesaver—donate blood.”
