A reminder the Mi lam County 4-H will be hosting A Beginner Fun and Learning workshop beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 15 in the Gause ISD cafeteria. This is a time for youngsters across the county to learn more about the 4-H program and the younger youth that are already 4-H members to come and have some fun as well as learn something new.

Activities planned include horticulture, food and nutrition, arts and crafts, an entomology project, fun and games after which lunch will be served. This is set for pre-K through nine years of age. Come and bring your friends.

The Gause Communi t y Improvement Program (CIP) met June 3 at the Gause Community Center. Member Elizabeth Miller gave a report on attending the Milano High School awards banquet and presenting Gause graduating senior at Milano High School Brianna Roth with the $200 college scholarship from the Gause CIP.

Congratulations, Brianna and special thanks for your community service. Also, new doors will be installed at the center in upcoming weeks.

Committees were formed for the annual Gause CIP Founders Day fund-raiser scheduled for Labor Day Weekend Saturday, Aug. 31. Start making your plans to come and participate.

The next CIP meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, July 8 in the Gause Community Center. Everyone is invited to come and take part in the program.

Granddaughter Kendall Lee turned 14 on June 11 and niece Lisa Cass Bleeker and greatniece Calla Vinton also had birthdays that day. Grandson Connelly Cooper turned 17 on June 13. Where does the time go? As large as our family is there may be someone else celebrating that I have forgotten. Sorry if I did.

Last week the Kenny and Sondra Sheppard families’ and Cole’s friend Chris, Becky Ferrara and son Alex and friend and Phyllis Stone, Beverly Nigliazzo and Lois Wilkins spent the week camping on the Frio River around Garner State Park having a relaxing great time. Eric and Shannon Sleeper and family of Kerrville joined them for the weekend.

Hope all of you dads have a wonderful Father’s Day Weekend.

Call me and let me know your summertime news.
