Milam County crops tour set June 21

The Milam County Crops Tour will take place on Friday, June 21. The tour will assemble starting at 8 a.m. at the Milam County Courthouse, 100 East1stSt.inCameron. Registration will be from 8-8:15 a.m. Cost is $ 10.

The tour will begin at 8:15 a.m. with stops to view county variety demonstration plots. The tour will conclude at the Thorndale Chamber of Commerce Building (South Main St. in Thorndale) to continue the program and lunch.

The agenda will include crop specialists and industry representatives presenting economic updates and the market outlook. Also on the agenda is an update on the boll weevil eradication program and a special program on rules and regulations pertaining to farm vehicles and equipment presented by Department of Pulic Safety Trooper Jimmy Morgan.

Please call the Milam County Extension Office, 254-697-7045, by June 18 so that meal preparations can be made for this event.

The tour is sponsored by the Milam County Crops Committee and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Milam County office. Three CEUs (1 L&R, 1 IPM, 1 Gen) will be offered to TDA pesticide applicator license holders.
