Council members not showing up for meetings

Dear editor,

I am showing my concern for, what I see, as a problem with the City Council in Rockdale. I know that recently they have scheduled a meeting to discuss the paving of Texas Street only to cancel it with short notice. This was not done once but as many as three times in the last week or so. Do they understand the importance of the meetings to the residents who care and put themselves out to be there only to find out it was put off again?

The fact is that this street is in dire need of being paved and has been for decades. The Rising Star Church is on that street and has many members and that section is traveled a lot. It does get very muddy after rains and is narrow for the most part. Members, will you please do your job and at least show-up for the meetings whether you are for or against whatever topics need to be discussed.

Thank for your time.
