Memorial services for John Fleming Williams Sr., 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams was born Nov. 28, 1920, in the Griffin Chapel community to John Watson and Mattie Bell (Cliff) Williams.

He married Mildred Bonita Mitchell on March 14, 1943, in Belton.

Mr. Williams had been a resident of the Griffin Chapel community for the past 69 years and was formerly of Belton.

He was a member of Griffin Chapel A.M.E. Church and was a farmer and owned a trucking business.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and six sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred Williams of Griffin Chapel; nine sons, John Williams of Plano, Larry Williams of Jacksonville, Florida, Ethan Williams of Pf lugerville, Mike Williams of Oak Leaf, Bruce Williams of Sugar Land, Joel Williams and Roland Williams, both of Temple, Ranzey Williams of Martindale, Enick Williams of Jonestown; three daughters, Sharon Stein of Clinton, Mississippi, Clydia Bowser of Katy, Bonita Whittington of El Paso; and a sister, Gloria Gray of Institute, West Virginia; also, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other family.

Memorials may be made to the John & Mildred Williams Scholarship Fund, 2502 Brooklawn Drive, Temple, TX 76502.
