Juneteenth celebration is Saturday
Rockdale’s Juneteenth Community Celebration is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Sumuel Park, Fourth and MLK.

‘Funny money’ suspect sought
One arrest made, 2nd suspect is sought
One arrest was made this week in connection with a series of counterfeit bills passed in Rockdale and Milano two weeks ago, and police are searching for a second suspect.

City, MDD rebate checks down for the month
Milam County allocations way ahead of June 2012 totals
AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said that state sales tax revenue in May was $2.26 billion, up 7.9 percent compared to May 2012.
Combs sent out $556.8 million in June local sales tax allocations last week to cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts. That is up 8.3 percent compared to the same time in 2012. Full Story
