Juneteenth celebration is Saturday
Rockdale’s Juneteenth Community Celebration is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Sumuel Park, Fourth and MLK.

‘Funny money’ suspect sought
One arrest made, 2nd suspect is sought
One arrest was made this week in connection with a series of counterfeit bills passed in Rockdale and Milano two weeks ago, and police are searching for a second suspect.

Near the end of Rockdale sage Clifford Simms’ 90-minute story-telling session at the city library Thursday, things took a philosophical turn.
Simms reported on a recent visit to his physician who checked over the beloved 84-year-old charmer and pronounced “Cliff, you’ve had a good life.” Full Story

Richards Memorial Hospital, which is rapidly approaching its 40th anniversary, has survived more than its share of challenges but the future is again looking good, according to its new administrator.
Peggy Borgfeld became the hospital’s chief executive officer (CEO) last month.
Jeff Madison, former hospital CEO, is now CEO for the entire Little River Healthcare System. Full Story
