Thanks to Rockdale from RHS Class of ‘63
The RHS Class of 1963 expresses its sincere appreciation for all of the kindness shown us before, during and after our 50th anniversary reunion.
The Reporter ran our announcements. RHS Principal Joey Geletkahostedusona great tour of the new school and in return I think we were able to provide him some interesting history.
The good folks at the Lucy Hill Patterson Library placed a wonderful display in their window showing our class in all of our young and dumb glory.
Apache Pass provided a wonderful meeting room and a view plus good food and otherwise left us alone to enjoy one another’s company.
And we were honored at Rockdale’s homecoming..
Herman Wouk wrote: “Seeing your childhood home will do it to you, the sense of the passing of time. It’s the cold breath of death on the back of your neck”.
Comparing faces we saw to those in the library window depicts the passage of time quite well. The rest of the quote doesn’t seem to apply. I never crossed paths with a more youthful and fun-loving bunch of grads or a town so warm in our memories.
Thank you Rockdale for everything you were and are to us today.
