Fourth of July parade set

The City of Milano’s annual Fourth of July parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. that day. Entry forms and line up for the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday with the parade route making its way through the downtown area and ending at the Milano Civic Center/Fire Station. This year’s theme is “Happy Birthday America.”

Divisions for entries are bicycles and walking, floats, vintage vehicles/ tractors/etc, other motorized (go- carts, four wheelers, lawn mowers, etc.), animals/horses/ horse drawn buggies/wagons. Plaques will be awarded to winners in each division as well as for “best overall.” After the parade, everyone will gather at the civic center for a free hot dog lunch.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
