Local residents named to Texas St. Dean’s List

SAN MARCOSĀ­— Several local residents have been named to the spring 2013 Dean’s List at Texas State University.

Those making the list include: Mark Thomas Brown, Britta R. Byrd, Adam K. McCoy, Nadine E. Oliver, Brenda I. Palacios, Kelsey L. Teague, all of Rockdale; April L. Howell, of Caldwell; Joseph M. Coronado, of Thorndale.

To be named to the Dean’s List at Texas State, a student must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 while carrying a class load of at least 12 semester hours.

Cooke-Garza on Spring SCAD Dean’s list

SAVANNAH, GA—Kennedy Cooke-Garza, of Rockdale, was named to the Dean’s List at the Savannah College of Art and Design for the Spring 2013 quarter.

Full time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the Dean’s List.

RHS cheerleaders set rah-rah mini camp

Rockdale High School varsity cheerleaders will hold their annual Rah- Rah Mini Cheer Camp from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 12-14 at the RHS Gym, according to spokesperson Tina Barcak.

The camp is for Pre-K through sixth graders, cost is $30 per child and will include a T-shirt and pre- game per formance during the upcoming Tiger football season.

Parent performance will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 14.

Thorndale cheerleaders offering mini camp

THORNDALE—The Thorndale cheerleaders will hold a Little Bulldog Cheer Camp on July 29-31 at the Thorndale Middle School gym.

Spokesperson Heather Lamia said that the camp’s proceeds are to raise money for Varsity Camp and cheer supplies.
