Art is wherever you want it
The Rockdale High School Art Club this spring and summer donated about 50 hours of their time to paint different themes on the center’s walls.
“Our center staff and a few Walmart volunteers jumped in to assist,” Rebecca Vest, center director, said.
“We were very excited when Benito Costilla, president of the Art Club called us to schedule a meetingtodiscussourplanof action,” Vest said.
This volunteer project took about 2-½ months and was just what we needed to refresh the Center,” she added,
“Not only does it add beauty, it will encourage the creativity in our children, parents and employees. The mural in the hall is one that many students from the Art Club participated in. It is amazing and has attracted so many positive comments,” she added,

A rt c lub m embers p articipating were Costilla, Karmjit Gill, Caroline Wilde, Henry Hill, Agustine Castillo, Melinda Perez, Pia Costilla, Tyler Rodriguez, Marina Costilla, Mariana Costilla, Kristian White, Keely Woods, Gideon Mathews, and Jacob Machac.
Walmart volunteer artists were Marisol Lopez, Jacob Gerren, Skyler David, and Cody Rackley from Walmart.
“We are grateful to Love and Learning Center employees who volunteered t heir t ime, a long with all who participated in this project,” Vest said.
