Braden

Funeral services for Marie Braden, 84, of Cameron were held Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green- Patterson Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McCurdy officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery in the Liberty community.

Mrs. Braden died June 17 in a Round Rock hospital.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1928, in Goree to Archie and Lillian (Bradshaw) Scott.

She married Clyde C. Jones on Sept. 27, 1945, in Graham and he preceded her in death.

They moved to Midland in 1947 and raised a son.

Mrs. Braden was active in all of her son’s school activities and she enjoyed crochet.

She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Midland.

Mrs. Braden was employed with the State of Texas in education and training of the Mental Health and Retardation (MHMR) department, she retired in June of 1994.

On Jan. 16, 1981, she married Carlton E. Braden of Cameron; he preceded her in death on June 13, 1997.

Mrs. Braden was a member of First Christian Church in Cameron where she attended and resided on the board of directors.

Her pride and joy were her family: a son, Tommy Lee Jones and wife Dawn, two grandchildren, Austin Leonard Jones and Victoria Kafke Jones, all of San Antonio.
