Rockdale hosting state softball

22 teams will invade softball complex


Over 250 players from all over the state will be in attendance at the 10u teenage state tournament here starting Monday. Over 250 players from all over the state will be in attendance at the 10u teenage state tournament here starting Monday. The Rockdale Girls Softball League will be hosting the Texas Teenage Softball Association 10U State Tournament July 15 thru 19, at the softball complex.

Twenty-two teams from around the state of Texas will come to compete, including RGSL’s first and second place teams, the Thorndale Thunder and Lexington Lightning.

Opening Ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 15. Games will start at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The championship game will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Daily gate prices for adults are $6, seniors/kids 12-18 years old are $3.

Weekly passes are available for adults $20 and seniors/kids 12-18 $10. Volunteers to help run the tournament are always welcome. Call Pete Rubio III at (512) 429- 0186 for more information.
