Buy a fan and give it to somebody that doesn’t have one, especially a senior citizen.

That’s the plea from the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce which is conducting its annual drive to be sure every local resident stays cool—literally—through the dog days of summer.

“Anyone who would like to donate a fan, which will then be distributed by the Chamber to those in need in our community, especially the elderly, is invited to bring them by the Chamber office,” Denise Brock, Chamber secretary said.

The Chamber’s “rock house” office is located at 1203 West Cameron (US 79). Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone is 512- 446-2030. “Money is also welcome,” she said. “Any, and all, donations are appreciated.”
