ROCKDALE RESIDENCE & REHAB NEWS

There are very exciting changes happening at Rockdale Residence & Rehab Center. Our new owners, Paragon Healthcare, are very interested in updating our building and making some positive changes for our elders.

This month we will be celebrating National Blueberry Month. On July 26, our residents will be making blueberry muffins. On July 22, Southern Care will be supplying ice cream treats for all our elders. July 23 is “Gorgeous Grandma Day” and we are going to have a fabulous magic make-over event.

Please mark your calendars for the following important events: Aug. 1 at 2 p.m.-Celebrate Elder Birthdays, 3 p.m.- Family Service Committee Meeting, 4 p.m.-Caregivers Support Group Meeting.

Our Caregiver Support Group has already grown in attendance. This is an outreach program designed for anyone in our community that is struggling with a family member that may be declining physically or mentally and hospice, home health, assisted living, or a nursing center may be an option. We meet the 1st Thursday of every month at 4 pm.

A new program we are excited to announce is our 65 and over Golden Era Club. This club is designed to bring in volunteers that are 65 and over to befriend and mentor our elders. We have many activities planned for these mentoring sessions. If you are in the Golden Era and would like to mentor some wonderful individuals in our facility, please join us on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. Please contact Lisa Debault at 512-446-5893 for more information.

Every month we will have a large family/community event. This month we celebrated 4th of July with hot dogs and hamburgers. In August our families are invited to a Family Reunion on Aug. 11 from 1-3 p.m. Please mark this date on your calendar. More details to come soon.

Rockdale Residence & Rehabilitation is located at 222 S FM 487 in Rockdale.
