While at convention, Erin Free served her third term on the Convention Chronicle staff. The Convention Chronicle staff interviews, photographs and designs the Convention newspaper. Andrew Jenkins also rode his way to the State Champion Bareback Rider in the Texas FFA Rodeo. This honor earned Jenkins a $1,000 scholarship. Cody Mynar (below left) and Erin Free received their Lonestar Degree from Texas FFA president Blake Vineyard. The Lonestar Degree is the highest degree available at the state level. Less than one percent of the Texas FFA membership holds their Lonestar Degree. Wesley Payne and Cierra Pomykal also earned their Lonestar Degrees but were unable to attend. The Rockdale FFA would like to thank the sponsors, supporters, school administration and parents that made the trip possible.
