Graveside services for Hildegard Mitchell, 90, were held Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mrs. Mitchell died Tuesday, June 4, at her home near Rockdale.
She was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Battrop, Germany, and was a high school graduate in Germany.
She married Joseph Ballon LeJeune in 1948 in Germany.
Mrs. Mitchell came to the United States and worked as a security guard in New York City for three years. She was also a homemaker.
She had lived in Rochester, New York, Santa Barbara, California, San Diego, California, Las Vegas, Nevada and the past three years in Rockdale.
On June 29, 1973, she married Richard Thomas Mitchell in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed bowling, going on cruises, playing slot machines and her little dog.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Mitchell, on Jan. 29, 2009, and a great-grandson, Wyatt William Phillips, on Feb. 16, 2012; also, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are two daughters, Edelgard Phillips of Rockdale, Charlesa LeJeune of North Dakota; a son, Michael LeJeune and wife Jackie of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, including Lisa Ann Smith, Robert Phillips and wife Liddia, Tammy Phillips and Teresa Phillips; and nine great-grandchildren, including Reghan Khalybrook Phillips and Heather Lynn Phillips; also, three great-great-grandchildren.
