Stephen Chapel A.M.E. to host fund-raiser musical Saturday

Stephen Chapel A. M. E. Church of Gause performs missionary work in Milam County serving the needs of families at risk. They recently partnered with several churches of the community to provide school supplies for needy children. There are also children of the community in need of clothing and shoes.

At 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 there will be a musical presented by local children at the church, 422 East US 79. Donations at this activity will go to the program. You may contact Debby Edmond, Missionary president, at 979- 200-1631 for more information.

Spending the weekend with us was Jim and Mary Lee of Houston. They came at this time to attend the Joint Installation Ceremony of Masons on Saturday at the New Salem Clubhouse in Rockdale. Cousin Mark Newman was installed as worshipful master of the Milano Lodge #605. A reception was held following the ceremony. Wanda and Alfred Coats, Wesley and Melanie Rasco and children attended a one-year- old birthday party for Grayson Rasco at the home of he and his parents, Bryce and Natalie Rasco in Bryan on Saturday evening. A barbecue dinner with birthday cake and all the trimmings was served.

Gause 4-H Club officers Calla Vinton, Seth Vinton, Jaxon Hayles, Cameron Cooper and Kendall Lee attended 4-H officer training in Rockdale on July 23.

Gause Community Improvement Program (CIP) will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 in the Gause Community Center.

We invite you to come and be a part of this organization as we finalize plans for the annual CIP Founders’ Day fund-raiser that will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the community picnic tables.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
