‘Facing the Giants’ movie, dinner Friday at Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist Church will host dinner and a movie, “Facing the Giants,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at the church. The church is located on TX 36 seven miles south of Milano. For more information, contact pastor Delmar McCracken at 979-567-0242.

Kristi’s Krusaders will hold their fourth annual MS Rally bike run on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Nat’s in Milano. Registration will open at 9 a.m. with first bike out 11 a.m. and last bike in at 4 p.m. Ride fee is $20 for rider and $25 with passenger, including a barbecue meal when you return from the ride. Stops and sponsors for this year’s rideare BurnoutsinSomerville, Cyndi’s Hawg Hang Out in Hogg, The Ranch in Rockdale and Nat’s in Milano.

Barbecue plates will be sold to the public starting at noon. A live auction will b egin at 5 p.m. The group will also have a bike show, silent auction, door prizes and event T-shirts for sale. Live music will be provided by Full House Blues B and. T his f und-raiser i s for a 501c3 organization so come on out and help raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Two-a-days practices have started for football, volleyball and cross countryathletesinMilano. We wish them all good luck on the upcoming season.

First day of school for MISD is Monday, Aug. 26. Watch this space for information on the annual “Meet the Teacher” and “Meet the Eagles” events.

The Milano Ex-Students Association reunion and luncheon will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 at Milano High School. A catered meal by The Crossing will be served at noon. For more information on the reunion, contact Carolyn Hafley, 512-455-2473.
