Cameron hospital hearing changed again
A 20th District Court hearing which was to have provided further clarity on the situation involving Cameron’s Central Texas Hospital has been re-scheduled for a second time.
The hearing, an outgrowth of the legal troubles surrounding hospital leasee Dr. Tariq Mahmoud of Cedar Hill, was to have taken place Monday, Aug. 19.
It has now been re-scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in 20th District Court.
It was originally to have been held Aug. 2.
But a district court spokesperson said the rescheduled hearing might not be held if the parties involved reach an agreement.
Most recent development is an investigation into records apparently shredded and discovered at the hospital.
Rockdale-based Little River Healthcare stepped in to keep the Cameron hospital in operation three weeks ago.
Other hospitals owned by Dr. Mahmoud have closed.
