TACC city-wide garage sale set Sept. 7

By DARLEEN TUCKER
TACC Secretary

Clean out your closets, your attic, and your garage; your junk may be your neighbor’s treasure. The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce will host a city-wide garage sale on Saturday, Sept. 7, according to Jeni Anders the TACC coordinator for this event. If you would like to sign up for this major event or if you have questions, call Jeni at 512-585-3007 or email her at jeni. anders100@gmail.com.

The signup deadline to be listed in the Thorndale Champion is Thursday, Aug. 29. You may also drop off your information at the TACC building drop slot by the same day. There is no charge for this inaugural event hosted by the TACC.

And don’t forget the TACC’s other upcoming events. The Lending Library is coming along with several more boxes of books donated and another set of shelves purchased. The Lending Library will be open one day a week beginning around Sept. 1. Patrons will be able to check out one book for each book donated. When that book is returned, another book may be taken. There will be no fines collected and no due date for returning the book. Interest in the library is growing and questions regarding the library will be answered by calling Darleen Tucker at 512-898-2727.

Also, the Meriwether and Culpepper Circus is coming to town on Oct. 14. Watch for more information as soon as our flyers begin to be posted around town. For more information on the circus, call Brian Morton at 512-658-5378.

Last, but definitely not the least, the 2013 Christmas Parade co-chaired by Donna Harris and Deana Caffey will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Thorndale. Begin now to plan your entry in the parade for your club, your church, or just an entry on your own. Contact Donna at 512-898-2427 or Deana at 512-468-3500 for more information on the parade.

The next meeting of the TACC Board of Directors will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 in the TACC building and visitors are always welcome.
