ROCKDALE RESIDENCE & REHAB NEWS
Here at Rockdale Residence, we are gearing up for a terrific September with our elders. September will be full of non-stop activities, Friday morning pastries and fine dining.
Once a week our elders are enjoying a fine dining experience. They are asked what they would like to eat, and our activities department cooks it up from scratch and we all sit together as a family and enjoy each others company.
It is a very special day for our elders and our staff. It’s a time to catch up, reminisce, or just tell stories of the “good ol’ days.” These fine dining moments have been a wonderful experience for all involved.
Rockdale Residence & Rehab Center has started a new networking team including marketers, case workers, social workers and hospice representatives.
Our team is involved with the local Senior Center, providing programs and calling Bingo. At 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, we will have a presentation on allergies. At 10:30 a.m. Aug. 28, we will have a roaring game of Bingo. Please join us at The Rockdale Senior Center.
Our Caregiver Support Group has already grown in attendance. This is an outreach program designed for anyone in our community that is struggling with a family member that may be declining physically or mentally and hospice, home health, assisted living, or a nursing center may be an option. We encourage anyone to come share their story and get the support from other participants in similar situations. We meet the first Thursday of every month at 4 p.m.
A new program we are excited to announce is our 65 and over Golden Era Club. This club is designed to bring in volunteers that are 65 and over to befriend and mentor our elders. We have many activities planned for these mentoring sessions.
If you are in the Golden Era and would like to mentor some wonderful individuals in our facility, please join us on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 pm. FMI please contact Lisa Debault at 512-446-5893.
