Tigers host Robinson in final scrimmage
The Rockdale Tigers will have one more opportunity to fine tune when they host Robinson at Tigerland Field Thursday at 7 p.m.

Rule changes needed to keep sports fresh
Whenever some talks about changing the rules in a professional sport, I am always reminded of James Naismith’s 13 original rules of basketball.
Here’s just a couple of examples from the 1891 journal.
There was a jump ball after every basket. Granted there wasn’t a whole lot of scoring in the peach basket days. Full Story
Slow start aids Lady Tigers fall to Thrall
Blue spikers manage just 19 points in first two games
Unable to build any momentum in the early going, the Rockdale Lady Tigers rallied late, only to fall to Thrall 25-8, 25-11, 25-20 at Tiger Gymnasium Tuesday night.
The Lady Tigers fall to 3-5 on the season with the loss.
Middle blocker Shelby Evans struck for seven digs and five kills, while Joli Carpenter added six assists and five digs. Full Story

Cake auction raises over $8,000 for athletic program
The opportunity to purchase baked goods sent bidders into a feeding frenzy Tuesday night as the 13th annual “Meet the Tigers” cake auction raised $8,320 for the RISD athletic department.

Rolling Lady Eagles take consolation prize
Still searching, Lady Dogs drop fifth in a row
The No. 17 Milano Lady Eagles (7-1) swept Academy 25-10, 25-18, 25-16 on Tuesday night at Geneva Paceley Gym in the team’s home opener.
Myka Morehead led the way with 12 kills for the Lady Eagles, followed by Keely LaGrone’s eight kills.
Cashlyne Blake put up 18 assists and 13 digs with Naomi Graham adding eight assists and four digs. Full Story

Rockdale Country Club held its annual Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday at the club’s course, according to tournament chairman Ben Ackley. Luminant tourney raises $14,000 for United Way
HUTTO—It was a hole-in-one for United Way at the recent Sandow/Three Oaks Mine 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament.
Giving big on the greens, Luminant employees and community attendees helped raise nearly $14,000 for the United Way of South Milam County. Full Story
Key team grabs 12 titles
HOUSTON—Cindy Key’s Karate Team, Team Ultimate Force, recently competed at the UMAHOF Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame held at the Marriott.
Key was awarded her Master 5th degree rank in Jon Sa Mu Sul at the awards Banquet by Grand Master Mike Fillmore.
Key has been training 21 years in the martial arts.
