Building damage leads to charge

A 40-year-old man was arrested last week and charged with criminal mischief in connection with an incident in which police said a vehicle was deliberately rammed into a building twice.

Brian Matejka was arrested by Sgt. Adam Assaker and was released after posting $6,000 bond.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said the incident was reported at Rockdale RV Park and appeared to have been related to a family disagreement.

ARRESTS— Clinton Matthew Wesley, 39, of Thrall, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance (3 to 28 grams).

He was released after posting $6,000 bond.

Crystal Bernice Fisher, 34, of Rockdale, was arrested Aug. 21 on Milam County warrants for burglary of a habitation, terroristic threat/family violence, criminal trespass of a building.

She was released after posting bond totaling $40,000.

ACCIDENTS—Police said vehicles operated by Charlotte Anthis of Rockdale and Chelsea Spracklen of Burnet were in collision at 9:27 p.m. Aug 21 at the intersection of Douthit Street and East Cameron Avenue (US 79).

Damages were termed minor to both cars.

A vehicle-deer collision was reported at 12:06 a.m. Friday at the northern US 77 off ramp at the US 77-US 79 interchange.

Police listed the driver as Paula Flores Calderon of Rockdale.

Damages were listed as moderate by police.

An accident was reported at 4:31 p.m. Saturday in the Walmart parking lot.

Police listed the driver as Eleanor

Taylor of Milano and Evangelina Valdez of Taylor.

Damages were termed minor to both the Taylor pickup and the Valdez car.

WARRANTS—Police served seven warrants during the week, Rockdale police warrants for failure to ID, failure to appear, failure to display driver’s license and speeding, a Milam County Sheriff’s Department warrant for criminal trespass and Williamson County warrants for theft by check and bond forfeiture.

CITATIONS—Traffic tickets issued during the week included 29 for speeding, 15 for expired MVI sticker and four for no insurance.

In addition, two citations were issued for disorderly conduct and one for possession of drug paraphernalia.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 153 calls for service during the past week and 109 calls were received through the 911 system.
