Drug bust near Cameron school

Photo courtesy Milam Sheriff’s Department A 28-year-old Cameron man was ar rested Monday near Cameron Elementary School at the conclusion of a two-month drug-trafficking investigation by the Special Investigations Unit of the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.

Kevin Ray Bailey was charged with possession of marijuana (4 ounces to 5 pounds) in a drugfree zone.

Bond was denied.

Chief Deputy Chris White said the department executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Terral Court, seized a pistol and over one-and-one-half pounds of marijuana.

Other items seized included close to $1,000 cash along with “items commonly used for selling marijuana.”
