They’re back!

By ones and twos, with moms and dads, grandparents and more, marching in a nice, straight line (above) or not so straight, students in the Rockdale ISD returned to classes Monday morning, the first day of the 2013-14 school term. A total of 1,532 enrolled the first day, according to Pam Kaufmann, assistant superintendent for instruction and administration. That compares to 1,543 one year ago. Monday’s enrollment was 413 at the elementary campus, 356 at the intermediate, 322, at the junior-high and 441 at the high school. Students will be in class for less than one week before getting their first holiday. That will come Monday when Rockdale ISD observes the Labor Day holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday.
