Spikers host 5th annual tournament this weekend
The Rockdale Lady Tigers finished up with a flourish in sweeping up Granger 25-21, 25-15, 25-15 Tuesday night at Tiger Gymnasium.
With the victory, the Lady Tigers improved to 6-8 on the season.
Six-foot senior middle blocker Shelby Evans patrolled the middle with 16 kills and nine digs. Full Story

While the University Interscholastic League moves closer and closer to being an all-inclusive entity, the most significant change in high school football this season is the adding of a fourth district team to the playoffs in Class 3A and 2A, joining what 4A and 5A have been doing already. Eagles had to find filler game after long time opponent drops football
MILANO—Craig Jentsch and his Milano Eagles will open up their 2013 campaign on Thursday as they travel to face the Del Valle Cardinals’ junior varsity squad. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
This game is more of filler, as the team that Milano has played in its opener for the past eight season ended it’s football program. Full Story

Pelzel tabbed for All- American Bowl
Josh Pelzel, has been selected to participate in the 3rd Semper Fidel i s Al l- Amer i - can Bowl in Los Angeles, Calif., Jan. 5, 2014.
The 6-foot- 7, 330-pound Pelzel will be recogni zed during a local jersey presentation in the near future.
Pelzel, a Baylor pledge, is also a candidate to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl which is played Jan. 4, 2014 in San Antonio. Full Story

Thorndale rolls up road victory over Travis Tuesday
The Thorndale Lady Dogs took a road victory on Tuesday night at Austin Travis, winning in straight sets 25-23, 25-22, 25-10.
Emily Churchman put up eight kills and 11 digs in the win. Kamryn Holder added seven kills and 12 assists for the 2-7 Lady Dogs. Full Story

Lady Eagles lose for the just the second time
MILANO—No. 5 Milano had a tough test on its hands Tuesday night at Geneva Paceley Gym with No. 3 ranked Iola, fighting hard, but falling in straight sets to Iola 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.
