Thorndale’s city-wide sale Saturday

By DARLEEN TUCKER
TACC Secretary

The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce will host a city-wide garage sale on Saturday, Sept. 7, according to Jeni Anders the TACC coordinator for this event. We hope you will have fun and find just the treasure you are looking for and hope all those hosting a garage sale are able to purge their yard of all their items for sale.

Next on the calendar is the Meriwether and Culpepper Circus. The circus is coming to town on Oct. 14 and should provide a wonderful experience for young and old alike. Our flyers are up all over town and tickets can be purchased at Downtown Café, Thorndale Meat Market, Rockdale Federal Credit Union and Sassy Up. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. Tickets will be $12 and $7 at the gate. For more information on the circus, call Brian Morton at 512-658-5378.

And in December, the 2013 Christmas Parade co- chaired by Donna Harris and Deana Caffey will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 in downtown Thorndale. Begin now to plan your entry in the parade for your club, your church, or just an entr y on your own. Contact Donna at 512-898-2427 or Deana at 512- 468-3500 for more information on the parade.

The TACC Lending Library is in need of more bookshelves to hold our expanding collection. If you have books or shelves you would like to donate, please call Darleen Tucker at 512- 898-2727. Thanks to all who have donated books and watch for the grand opening later in September.

The TACC would like to invite you to join the chamber so you can help us bring these family friendly events to Thorndale. We take individual memberships as well as business memberships. Please call Brian Morton at 512- 658- 5378 or Darleen Tucker at 512-898-2727 if you would like to join the chamber. Membership forms are located on our website: thorndaletx.com.

The next meeting of the TACC will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 and visitors are always welcome.
