SATURDAY WRECK—



Milam County escaped the long Labor Day weekend without any fatal crashes. The Rockdale area had an injury crash, at 12:02 p.m. Saturday directly across US 79 from the KC Hall east of the city limits. Trooper Ernest DelBosque said this pickup driven by Robert Bennett, 72, of Boerne, left the highway, went through a bar ditch and climbed an embankment almost to the Union Pacific tracks, The driver was taken to Scott & White Hospital by an AMR ambulance crew. Vehicle damages were termed “extensive.”
