Garage sales rule the weekend
Yearly event draws crowds into streets

How about some books, toys, furniture, electronics, games, kitchenware?
How about a car?
All of those items, and more, were for sale over the weekend at more than 75 locations all over Rockdale as the town hosted its annual garage sale event and there was something different for 2013.
This time around it was a two-day event, held in conjunction with an antique appraisal seminar downtown.

Garage sales were held Saturday and Sunday, although a handful kicked off their sales on Friday, drawing some early browsers.
The big day, as always, was Saturday, with shoppers lining Rockdale streets in several area of town, especially northwest Rockdale, virtually at daybreak.
Almost 60 took advantage of a special offer by The Reporter to list their garage sales in the newspaper and online. A map showing the location of those sales was printed in last week’s newspaper.
‘Mom, I’ve got to have this book!’ says Hudson Bexley to his mother, Jaclyn Bexley. For anyone not in a reading mood, how about some tires and wheels?
