PRESERVING THE PAST—

Reporter/Mike Brown Reporter/Mike Brown If you think the “A Bit of Rockdale History” mural on the side of the Bit of History/Municipal Development District building downtown looks brighter and sharper this week you’re correct. William Beene (R) and Kevin Shaw of Rockdale’s K&W Remodeling applied a sealant to both preserve and enhance the artwork Friday morning. The mural was painted by Kim Finley, former Rockdale artist in 2008 and features historic scenes and personalities including writer George Seasons Perry at center of photo. The enhancement was part of renovation work done to the entire building. “That mural is now good for another 30 years,” Beene said.
