The Lady Tigers produced two sweeps, hammer ing Hempstead 25-16, 25-15, 25-15 on the road Tuesday night, which followed a 25-21, 25-21, 25- 20 victory over Cameron in a pre-Battle of the Bell matchup.

The Lady Tigers improved to 14-11 on the season, the most wins since 2006 when they went 15-18 and made the playoffs for the last time.

Against Hempstead senior middle blocker Shelby Evans busted out 16 kills, 11 blocks and five digs.

Morgan Laughlin followed with 11 digs, six kills and a pair of servive aces.

Keelie McKeehan notched 10 digs and three aces, while Amanda Boyd had 19 assists, Joli Carpenter 11 assists and Dae Dae Robertson and Samantha Muston five kills each.

Against Cameron, Evans collected 17 digs, 16 kills, two blocks and a service ace.

Robertson chipped in six digs, five blocks and four kills, while Muston had eight digs, five kills and an ace.

Boyd added 12 assists, Carpenter 10 assists and Laughlin nine digs.

The junior varsity defeated Hempstead 25-16, 25-7 led by Dakota Eubanks and Chloe Contreras.

The freshmen fell 25-20, 16-25, and 18- 25 as Lauren Locklin served up 11 points and Reyan Henderson six.

Rockdale will take Friday off and resume play Tuesday by hosting Lago Vista (21-3), ranked No. 4 in Class 2A.

Rockdale then opens District 18-3A action on Sept. 27 on the road against defending league co- champion College Station (15-17).

The Lady Tigers will get some home cooking with the next two matches at Tiger Gymnasium against Madisonville (18-7) and district co- champion Caldwell (13-9).
