BASIC MAYHEM

‘The Rock’ is the place to be on Saturday!
Kathy Cooke

Well, I can see that Fall is just going to fly by this year. I can’t believe it’s almost October.

Luckily, there are still plenty of fun things to do this last week of September.

Saturday, the day starts off with the 8th Annual 5Kay Run/Walk/Un-Run/Kid’s Kay. The Kid’s Kay starts at 8 a.m. with the 5Kay starting at 8:30 a.m.

It’s all happening at the The Kay Theater at 350 N. Main Street in downtown Rockdale. Proceeds go to the restoration of the beautiful Kay Theater.

The Communities in Concert band will entertain and you know they have got the cutest drummer ever, what was his name?

Then there is another concert at Rockdale Fair Park on Saturday night, sponsored by the Rockdale Tourism Committee and the City of Rockdale.

This is another chance to hear some awesome music and eat some great food at all the booths BEFORE the Rockdale Fair brings all of it’s annual excitement to town in October.

The headliner is Reckless Kelly with Wally West and Them Lostbound Souls opening for them, starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $15 at the door, $12 in advance and $5 for kids 12 years of age and under. To reserve tickets: www.rockdalecityhall.com.

Also on Saturday, National Pawn in Rockdale is holding a Gun Buying Bonanza.

They are looking to stock up on their gun inventory. If you have some guns you’d like to get rid of, they will buy one or a whole collection.

Go by 1500 W. Cameron (old Walmart building in WayMar Plaza).

And now someone in our community needs our help.

Linda Pace has lost her dog, it’s a small terrier with light brown hair and responds to “Little Britches”.

She is offering a $100 Reward for her return. Please call Linda at 979- 204-1994 if you have any information for her. They are heart-broken, she is a much loved pet.

“Little Britches” wandered away from home off of County Road 335 in Rockdale. May possibly be headed towards Milano. Contact Kathy Cooke at 446-5838 or kathy@rockdalereporter.com
