Six draw sentences in 20th District Court
CAMERON—Six persons drew sentences last week in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey, who listed case dispositions as follows:

Rockdale Police and an AMR ambulance unit responded to a 1:35 p.m. two-vehicle collision Monday on Meadow Drive at the Banks Sisters Apartments. Sgt. Stephen Goodrich said the crash involved two pickups, one driven by Stanley Davis of Rockdale and a parked pickup registered to Blane Taylor of Bluffton. Sgt. Full Story
Friends, family offer reward in June death
The family of a Milano-area man whose body was found in late June on Sugarloaf Mountain isn’t satisfied with the Milam County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation into that death and is offering a reward for information. Full Story
Police seeking help from public to catch suspect
Rockdale police are asking for the public’s aid in catching a suspect believed to have used a stolen debit card in Rockdale and elsewhere.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said the suspect, who was captured on this video surveillance in Williamson County, used the card at several ATM machines in Rockdale and also at locations in Round Rock. Full Story
Pedestrian hurt in hit-and-run
The Department of Public Safety is searching for the vehicle which struck and injured a Buckholts man south of Rockdale on FM 908 Monday night.
State Trooper Jason Adams said Miguel Campos was transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple by an AMR ambulance crew with what appeared to be a serious back injury. Full Story

Burn ban to remain off two more weeks
Commissioners overrule county fire chiefs’ request to reimpose restrictions
Rural Milam County residents who want to do some outdoor burning after last weekend’s rains can go ahead after commissioners unanimously agreed Monday not to reimpose the burning ban.
That 5-0 vote came despite a request from the county fire chiefs association to reimpose the ban which was lifted Sept. 10. Full Story
