Pedestrian hurt in hit-and-run

The Department of Public Safety is searching for the vehicle which struck and injured a Buckholts man south of Rockdale on FM 908 Monday night.

State Trooper Jason Adams said Miguel Campos was transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple by an AMR ambulance crew with what appeared to be a serious back injury.

Adams said the call came in at 11:05 p.m. and was first believed to have been in Burleson County but was determined to have been inside the Milam County line.

Adams said the vehicle involved left the scene and had not been located as of Tuesday afternoon.

CRASHES—Troopers investigated three other crashes on Rockdale-area roads during the past week.

Injuries were termed minor in a one-vehicle accident at 10:30 p.m. Friday on US 77, south of the FM 487 intersection near Rockdale, according to Trooper Ernest DelBosque.

He listed the driver as Patricio Flores, 42, of Cameron. Vehicle damages were termed “moderate to extensive.”

Trooper J. C. Brooks was called to a two-vehicle collision at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 18 on US 79 west of Milano.

He listed drivers as Jose Vasquez, 54, of Kendleton and 22-year-old Mark Banigan Jr. of Austin.

Damages were termed moderate to both vehicles and there were no injuries, according to the DPS.

No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident at 4:50 a.m. Thursday on FM 487 south of Rockdale.

Trooper Broderick Sims said Demetria Davis, 20, of Rockdale swerved to miss a deer. Damages were termed moderate.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
