The KC Hall parking lot is a busy place each third Thursday of the month when the Capital Area Food Bank of Austin brings its truck to town for monthly free surplus food distributions. Over 200 persons were served at the September event on Thursday. There are no requirements to receive surplus food but recipients are asked to bring sacks and boxes for the groceries each month. After taking Friday off, the Rockdale Lady Tigers resumed play Tuesday night and the time off agreed with them as they outlasted Lago Vista, ranked No. 4 in Class 2A.

Thorndale has put up big numbers in two straight wins
Thorndale’s contest with Hallettsville Sacred Heart was canceled due to lightning strikes in Hallettsville.
“The lightning would not stop, ” said Thorndale Coach Brent Brevard. “And, they could not play on Saturday due to a wedding in town that day.”
Thorndale defeated Sacred Heart 66-25 last season. Full Story

MILANO—After a much needed open date, already on the schedule, not due to the wet weather last Friday, the Milano Eagles will have a very tough test on their homecoming night.
