Miller-Starnes remodel sparks big month for permits
A remodeling project at Miller -Starnes Chevrolet Buick sparked city building permits for the month of September.
The business which celebrated 50 years in business earlier this year, is undergoing a $800,000 fix up, according to Rockdale city hall officials. That amount made up 94.5 percent of the full $846,287 for the entire month.
That total is down f rom August’s 2,414,900, which was steered by the construction of the $2.39 million, 500,000-gallon Allday Street water tower.
The September total boosted the grand total for the fiscal year to $9,886,632.
Permits are issued at City Hall and reflect only construction in the city limits.
