Council member declines MDD post
Interim manager job becomes permanent
The Rockdale Municipal Development District (MDD) gained a permanent manager but lost a director Thursday.
Meeting in regular session in the MDD office, the board heard a report that Kara Clore, serving as interim director since April, has been named permanent director. Full Story
Rockdale Fair tickets now on sale
Contestants for the Miss Rockdale Fair Queen Contest, now just over one week away, began selling season tickets for the 2013 Fair on Tuesday.
The tickets, representing a bargain admission to all events of the Oct. 17-19 Fair, will also admit the holder to the Oct. 12 queen and children’s pageants in the high school auditorium. Full Story
First candidate files for city special ballot
The Dec. 21 special election to fill an unexpired east ward Rockdale City Council term got its first candidate last week.
Denise Holmes Wallace, an administrative assistant to the Milam County Judge, filed on Friday, according to City Secretary Terry Blanchard. Full Story
