MVFD Auxiliary sale at new shelter

Mi lano Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary will hold its annual fall garage sale Oct. 3-5 at the brand new Milano VFD/shelter. Congratulat ions to Sarah Pedroza for being named Milano High School homecoming queen on Friday night. She is the daughter of Randy and Gloria Pedroza. Also, congratulations to Alex Ferrara for being named MHS homecoming king. He is the son of Joe and Becky Ferrara.

There was a nice turn out for the annual Milano Alumni Association meal and reunion on Saturday afternoon. Enjoyed visiting with everyone.

On Saturday evening, the community of Milano dedicated its new shelter and future fire department building. What a nice asset this is for our town and for those that we lend a hand to in times of trouble. Almost 200 people attended the event. The refreshments by the MVFD auxiliary were delicious and the singing by the Milano second grade students was very much enjoyed.

MHS Class of 2014 Project Graduation is taking orders for Milano knit blankets. The blanket is 63” X 63”. Cost is $45 each. Personalization can be added for an additional $15. Money is due at time of ordering. Contact a MHS senior, senior parent to place your order or buy tickets. MHS Class of 1978 will hold its 35th-year reunion on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Milano Community Center, downtown across from the post office. Milano Elementary School has set the date for its fall festival for 4-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.

Milano ISD 2014 yearbooks are on sale now. This year’s theme is “#Life@Milano”. The cost is $25, but will be increasing in January. Order online today at www.balfour.com.
