RAISING THE ‘STANDARD’—



Dedication and open house ceremonies for the new Milano Community Shelter and Volunteer Fire Department was held Saturday. MVFD recognized Tommy and Dorothy Standard for their $10,000 donation to the department in memory of his mother Eva Standard. Pictured are (l-r) MVFD president Gary Vinton, MVFD chief Jesse Love, Tommy Standard, MVFD assistant chief Travis Yoakum, Dorothy Standard and MVFD secretary Ted Hubert. When the department re-organized in 1986, getting its first “real” fire truck, Standard was the group’s fire chief and Love the president.
