89 get flu shots

It was a big turnout Friday at the KC Hall when the Milam County Health Department brought its flu shot clinic to Rockdale. Area resident Vernon Ferguson (left) getting his shot from Deborah Crawford, and 88 others took advantage of the opportunity to get immunized against the flu’s 2013 strains. Nurses were from Standard Home Health and KC Council 7014 donated use of the hall. The final scheduled clinic is from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Thorndale Senior Citizens Center. The flu vaccine will be given at no cost to people who have Medicare Part B,” Diane Leftwich, spokesperson for the Milam County Health Department, said. Bring Medicare cards. Cost to all other adults will be $20 to receive the shot, she said.
