Stiles

Memorial services for Bill Stiles will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Stiles died suddenly Sunday morning.

He was a world-traveler but lived the past 40 years in the country farmhouse in which he was born in 1929.

Mr. Stiles was a retired printer, a Korean war veteran, a proud 50-year Mason and a Shriner. He also worked in Las Vegas as a dealer and a pit boss.

He was a father, a fitness enthusiast, a philanthropist and an outdoorsman. Mr. Stiles rarely missed a Thorndale Bulldogs game.

He was a voracious reader, loved science and often quoted the poetry of Omar Khayyam. He enjoyed sharing a cold beer with his friends and family, sitting on the swing under the shade tree.

Mr. Stiles was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Marquis; his father, Wayne Excel Stiles Sr.; two brothers, Wayne Excel Stiles Jr. and Lynn Marquis Stiles; and a daughter, Gayla Lynn Stiles.

Survivors are his oldest daughter, Lisa Drummond, husband Mitchell and their children, Stephen Nicholas Drummond, wife Trisha and son Gavin Scott, Matthew Travis Drummond and Conoley Stiles Reinhardt; his middle daughter, Jana Llana and her children, Jennifer Nicole Coates, husband Mark and daughter Llana, Austin Luckey Llana and his wife Lacey, Lorenzo Stiles Llana and Bill’s angel, Margie Sue Llana.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Drummond, Matthew Drummond, Conoley Reinhardt, Jennifer Coates, Austin Llana, Lorenzo Llana, Margie Llana and David Blake.
