Masons & Band Boosters to hold fundraisers
Kathy Cooke

The Rockdale Masons will hold a sausage wrap and sausage by the pound fundraiser on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. in front of Rockdale Walmart, according to Bob Stephens.

The Rockdale Band Boosters are holding a fundraiser at Rockdale Pizza Hut from 5-10 p.m. this Thursday.

There is a coupon on page 8A that you can cut out or just tell them on Thursday at Pizza Hut that you want your order to benefit the Big Blue Band from Tigerland and they will happily oblige.

And of course, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the 38th annual Rockdale Fair & Rodeo will go on at Fair Park.

Look on pages 1A and 8A for a listing of the events and a full schedule.

See you at the Fair, y’all!

The eighth annual “Buddy Oney” Toy Run, sponsored by the Bad to the Bone Riders of Rockdale, will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 at The Ranch, 415 W. Hwy 79, in Rockdale, according to organizer Charles Starr.

This annual ride in honor of the late Buddy Oney benefits the needy children of Milam County by giving 100 percent of the proceeds to Milam County Child Protective Services and the Rockdale Christmas Roundup.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with first bike out at 11 a.m. Ride fee is $15 for rider ($20 with passenger) or a new toy valued at $20. Ride fee includes food after the ride for all participants.

Long-sleeve ride souvenir T-shirts will be for sale by pre-order only for $25.

Order deadline is Nov. 4 and orders can be placed by contacting Cynthia Ferrell at 512-698- 2784. Short sleeve shirts will be available on the day of the ride for $20.

The ride stops will be Bob’s Steakhouse in Cameron, Cliff’s Tavern in Rockdale, Cyndi’s Hawg Hang Out in Hogg, Nat’s in Milano and The Ranch in Rockdale. The last bike should be back at The Ranch by 4:30 p.m.

“At this point we will have a meal provided by Brady’s Pest Control and crew. We will also have a 50/50 drawing, DJ music and door prizes,” Starr said.
