Christmas cottage set November 1 in Cameron
Cheryl Walker

Christmas Cottage provides you an opportunity to shop for holiday gifts and decorations, get new ideas and enjoy a great lunch. Mark Nov. 1 on your calendar for the Christmas Cottage at Bea’s Kitchen on the courthouse square in Cameron. The admission is free, so at least stop by and have a look at the different booths.

The doors will be open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch will be available starting at 11 a.m. For many years the Extension Education Association Clubs and the Family and Consumer Sciences Committee has worked with the Milam County Extension Office to provide this opportunity to look, shop and eat at the Christmas Cottage.

If you are a crafter looking for another place to show your talents, contact the Milam County Extension office to reserve a booth. The space is limited, so don’t wait and be left out of the Christmas Cottage.

GIFT IDEA EXCHANGE— This year will mark the 19th year of the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange conducted by the Milam County 4-H. Year after year, 4-Hers demonstrate holiday gift, decoration, and food ideas to give you a new idea for the season.

On Nov. 18th the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange will be conducted from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron. You will see a variety of demonstrations, get handouts with instructions for the projects and enjoy refreshments and door prizes. Everyone is welcome at the program.

FALL TOUR—Everyone likes to see Christmas Parades and holiday decorations, so sign-up for the Dec. 6 Fall Tour to Fredericksburg. The tour is sponsored by the Milam County Extension Education Association clubs and open to all interested persons.

The charter bus will leave Cameron at 8:30 a.m. and arrive back in Cameron about 11:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for you to get in the Christmas spirit and have a fun day with friends.

The day trip to Fredericksburg offers two special activities. First the St. Nikolausmarkt in the downtown square will showcase a variety of craft, food and art booths. This market is different each year depending on the exhibitors. We will end the day with the lighted Christmas Parade. The parade is a great way to catch the Christmas spirit. The cost of the trip is $40 per person.
