Ford, Reynolds runners-up for annual pageant

Reporter/Mike Brown Jacey Jerman, a 17-year- old senior at Rockdale High School, was crowned Miss Rockdale Fair 2013 Saturday before a crowd of more than 550 in the Rockdale High School auditorium.

First runner-up at the annual pageant was Kelsey Ford and second runner up was Madison Reynolds.

Mistress of ceremonies was Ivana Hall, Miss Texas 2013, who sang two songs and introduced the eight contestants.

WINNERS—The new Miss Rockdale Fair Queen is the daughter of Debra and Art Neal and Jeff Jerman. She was sponsored by KRXT.

This year’s first runner- up is the daughter of Terrace Mitchell and is a 17-year- old senior at Rockdale High School. She was sponsored by Photography by Jen.


Contestants also appeared in western wear competition before judges Saturday night in Rockdale High auditorium. Rodney and Michelle Barcak are parents of the second runner-up, who is a 16-year-old junior at Rockdale High School. She was sponsored by Brady’s Pest Control.

The Miss Congeniality winner was Cierra Pomykal, daughter of Melissa Pomykal and a 17-year- old senior at Rockdale High School. She was sponsored by Helen’s Sno Balls.

Reynolds was presented the award for selling the most tickets.

Pageant director was Neva Caffey. Mrs. Caffey has been involved with all 36 Miss Rockdale Fair pageants. Assistant was Deedra Jacob.

MISS TEXAS— Billy Moreland, Rockdale Fair Association president, welcomed the crowd and introduced Hall who presented contestants in western wear and evening attire.

McCoy has performed at numerous Miss Rockdale Fair Queen pageants. She also participated in the crowning of her successor.

Hall introduced judges Jackie Estes, Darrell Donaldson and Rockdale native Penny Graves Redington.

ENTERTAINMENT—Entertainment was by Hall, McCoy, Denice Doss, Reef Doss and Becky Mueller-Wolf.

Also performing were members of the RHS Golden Girls drill team.
