EDUCATION NOTES

MISD GETTING HEALTHY—Standards Health Care and Tommy Standard (left) recently donated nine treadmills to Milano ISD, represented by Supt. Robert Westbrook (center) and secondary principal Brad Jones. MISD will use the treadmills to implement a Health and Wellness plan for the district’s employees. Employees have the ability to utilize the treadmills before and afterschool hours and will keep a log of their exercise activities. The district is also working with Scott & White to provide a health fair on campus to provide a baseline on basic health information for the employees. The employees can then utilize this information in establishing individual goals. Additional activities being planned are working with a dietician to provide employees healthy menu options and encouraging district employees to enter fun runs/walks together, Westbrook said.
