Police seeking suspect
Rockdale police are seeking a suspect after an incident in which a man was beaten with a picture frame containing several nails.
L t . J . D . Newlin said an arrest warrant has been issued for Wayne Ireland Jr. in connection with the incident.

SO investigates death of 3-year-old
The Milam County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the death of a three-yearold boy in the Davilla area, a death Chief Deputy Chris White said investigators think is “probably the result of a severe asthma attack.” Full Story

Five draw terms in 20th District Court action
CAMERON—Five persons were sentenced during the past week in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey, who listed case dispositions as follows:
• Kenneth Dale Wehunt, 36, Burlington, was sentenced to a five-year prison term after pleading guilty in April to sexual assault of a child. Full Story
Grand jurors return 26 indictments
CAMERON—Twenty-six persons were indicted Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.

ID required for constitutional amendment early voting
Early voting for the Nov. 5 Texas Constitutional Amendment election continues this week at one location, the county clerk’s office in Cameron.
Milam residents may cast early ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 25, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 through Nov. 1. Full Story

Thorndale sets lighting for Christmas lot Dec. 1
THORNDALE—The annual lighting of the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas display lot on US 79 has been set. This year’s theme is “Jesus is the Light of the World.”

Group to stage fall production Wednesday
Milano High School One- Act Play production class will present its fall show “10 Ways to Avoid the Zombie Apocalypse” by Don Zolidis for a one time only performance.
