Beathard announces for Pct. 3 constable position

Beathard Beathard My name is Jay (Johnnie) Beathard, I would like to let all of my friends and neighbors know that I am seeking to be elected as your Republican candidate for the Precinct 3 constable.

I was born in Cameron and raised by my parents, Earl and Vi rgi n ia Beathard, in Milano. Milano his been my home for 43 years. I attended school there and my wife, Danice, are seeing our children through the Milano Schools

After graduating from Milano High I was a combat engineer in the U,S, Army. I left the Army honorably as a sergeant and in 1995 took a job under Sheriff Charlie West as a corrections officer in the Milam County Jail.

While working, I attended the Central Texas College Police Academy, I obtained my Basic Peace Officer license in 1997, and was promoted to patrol deputy that same year.

I have dutifully served the people of Milam County throughout my career in law enforcement with promotions to the position of Sheriff’s Office Investigator in 2000 and lieutenant in 2012.

I have extensive experience investigating all types of crimes; from minor thefts to homicides, including the capital murder case currently in the courts.

I hold a master peace officer certification, highest level obtainable in the state. I am a certified instructor and firearms instructor.

I have special investigator certification and have accumulated approximately 2,500 hours of law enforcement training.

My desire to serve was instilled in me at an early age and through- out my years growing up in Milano. Learning from my father, seeing him serve as a deputy sheriff under Carl Black and also as a police officer in Cameron and my mother’s service to the county as a clerk for County Judge Harden and Judge Gelner. I have always embraced duty, honor and service to my community as a way of life.

I know the constable’s office is primarily responsible for the service of civil processes within their respective jurisdictions and as an officer for the justice court.

However, I believe that it can be much more. The constable should have a bond with the people, serving not just as a paper-server, but as a localized law enforcement presence within the precinct.

I want to strengthen that bond through my service as your Constable and help to provide a solid, professional law enforcement presence to the citizens of Precinct 3, all of whom I consider my neighbors and friends.

I believe in a dedicated service to the people. I believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights as the basis of our equality and to the freedoms that we share and enjoy.

I believe that my experience and service to the people of Milam County for the past 18 years, allows me to say that I am the best candidate for Constable of Precinct 3 and if elected, I will bring honor to and maintain the integrity of that office. I believe that the people, my friends and neighbors, deserve no less.

Please remember me, when you go to the polls for the Republican Primary Election on March 4. I would be honored to be elected and serve you as your next Precinct 3 Constable.
