Police seeking suspect

POLICE REPORT

Rockdale police are seeking a suspect after an incident in which a man was beaten with a picture frame containing several nails.

L t . J . D . Newlin said an arrest warrant has been issued for Wayne Ireland Jr. in connection with the incident.

“ He is also wanted on a previous felony aggravated assault warrant,” Newlin said.

ARREST— Newl in said a 17-year- old Rockdale resident was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence in connection with an incident during the week.

Lequinn Nequ ice Dav i s remains in the Milam County Jail in lieu of $4,500 bond.

CRASHES— Pol ice were called to seven roadway accidents during the past seven days.


Ireland Ireland Vehicles operated by Jose Lopez and a 16-year- old juvenile, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 5:35 p.m. Thursday in front of the Pizza Hut, according to police, who said there were no injuries and reported damages as moderate to major.

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision in the Walmart parking lot at 12:20 p.m. Friday. Drivers were listed as Valena White of Austin and Virginia Ruelas of Rockdale.

Damages were termed moderate.

Minor damages were reported in a 12:51 p.m. Friday collision in the 500 block of West Cameron (US 79). Drivers were listed as Cynthia Cespedes- Salazar of Houston and Larry Terrell of Albuquerque, New Mexico. No injuries were reported.

Police said vehicles operated by Raymond Worley and Rachel Henson, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 6:24 p.m. Friday on West Cameron in front of Eagle Automotive.

Damages were termed minor and there were no injuries, according to police.

A three-vehicle accident was reported at 12:36 a.m. Saturday at the Cameron-Wilcox corner (US 79-FM 487).

Drivers were listed as Stone Hairston and Carolyn Caddell of Rockdale and Davey Meschwitz of Brenham.

Pol ice said damage est imates on all three vehicles were unknown.

Vehicles operated by Andreu Altes of Thorndale and Neal June of Rockdale were in collision at 10:06 a.m. Saturday on West Cameron (US 79) in front of City Hall.

Police said there were no injuries and listed damages as “moderate.”

No injuries were reported in another three-vehicle collision in front of City Hall at 3:38 p.m. Sunday.

Drivers were listed as John Valenta of Houston, Ryan Waters of Round Rock and Rudolfo Rueda of Bryan. Damages were termed medium to minor.

CITATIONS—Traffic tickets issued during the past week included 28 for speeding, eight for no liability insurance, seven for expired MVI sticker, two for expired registration and one each for running a stop sign, passing in a no-passing zone and expired driver’s license.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 137 calls for service during the week and 111 calls were received through the 911 system.
